Neck Profile Options.

The neck profile includes the neck width (as measured across the fingerboard), the neck thickness (as measured from the top of the fingerboard to the back of the neck), and the neck shape (the 'C' shape cross section).

I hand carve each neck individually with chisels and spokeshaves. As a result, I can easily customize a neck profile to meet a customers needs. On my spec guitars, I vary the neck profile to address players with different preferences.

The neck width is determined by the string spacing desired. The neck thickness on a steel-string guitar has its thinnest limit based on the depth of the truss rod, and neck strength on a classical guitar. The shape of the cross section can be from relatively flat, to very rounded to v-shaped.

The first two images on the leftt show a standard steel-string neck profile. The second two images show a standard classical neck profile.
