Custom Guitar Options.
Headstock Inlay Options.

The headstock inlay usually identifies the maker of the guitar. Traditionally, makers use the first initial of thier last name, their initials, or their entire last name. In my case, I use the silhouette of a howling wolf in front of the moon as my standard headstock inlay. I prefer the appearance of this over using my name.

I have two versions of my standard headstock inlay. The first utilizes a bound ebony headplate inlaid with a mother-of-pearl (MOP) moon, which is in turn inlaid with an ebony wolf silhouette. Below the moon is an inlaid MOP Lone Wolf ribbon banner. Different types of MOP are used for the moon and ribbon including white MOP, black MOP, gold MOP, and bronze MOP.

The second headstock inlay uses a three piece headplate. A center ebony "tear-drop" shaped headplate is flanked on the two sides by book-matched pieces of the same wood used on the guitar back plate. Given the imense character of most back woods, this design brings some of that character to the front of the guitar. Inlaid in the center ebony headplate is a MOP moon with an ebony wolf silhouette.

A completely custom headstock design and inlay is another option for a custom guitar. I'm happy to create a custom design that has meaning to you.
