Car Travel Page Title
Car travel with a guitar.
Transporting a guitar in your car is relatively safe as long as sensible precautions are taken. Temperature is the main threat to your guitar during car travel. You must avoid excessive heat or cold to ensure the safety of your guitar. Therefore, do not transport your guitar in your trunk. Your trunk will become very hot during sunny warm weather, and may become very cold in the winter. Your guitar should only be placed in the temperature controlled passenger compartment of your vehicle, and out of direct sunlight. As always, it is safest to loosen the strings to avoid unnecessary tension and remove any loose objects in the case that may damage your guitar if they rattle around during transport.
